On this day in 1953, the United States, China, and North Korea sign a final armistice agreement, bringing an end to the Korean War. While pledging to observe the agreement, Syngman Rhee (President of South Korea) refuses to sign and North Korea still claims victory to this very day.
Plus, Vincent van Gogh commits suicide (dies two days later) in 1890, the Bugs Bunny character is introduced in A Wild Hare in 1940, and Bob Hope passes away at age 100 in 2003.
