On the evening of this day in 1938, 23 year-old Orson Welles adapts H.G Wells’s War of the Worlds as a radio play and broadcasts across the airwaves. This radio adaptation was said to have caused wide spread panic throughout the country and there was real concern of aliens invading earth.
Also on this day in 1735, 2nd President of the United States, John Adams, is born and Argentinian footballer, coach, and manager, Diego Maradona is born in 1960.
