In 1995, Microsoft released the brand new program in North America, merging the MS-DOS and Windows products. The series introduced such programs as the ‘Start menu’ and the ‘taskbar‘ and became a fixture on computers across the world.
Plus, 1456 sees printing completed on the Gutenberg Bible, Mark David Chapman is sentenced to prison for the murder of John Lennon in 1981, and Vince McMahon is born on this day in 1945.
